Olivia Kwok, Bachelor of Accounting
Olivia was a Green and Gold recipient from the fall. Read on to hear about her experience.
Olivia was one of several recipients that attended the Harvard Undergraduate Women in Business Weekend in Boston in October, 2014. One of the main goals of her trip was networking. “I wanted to meet other like-minded leaders who are also striving to achieve their ambitions… I believe that there is a need to empower and inspire women to pursue their aspirations without inhibitions, especially in a male dominated field such as business.”
Olivia feels that the skills she learned at this conference will benefit her throughout her career. “Regardless of my chosen career, attending this conference helped me develop many transferable skills that will increase my future employability.”
“Although I have yet to determine my specific career aspirations, attending the workshops as well as speaking to delegates has taught me how diverse a business degree can be. This Experience has changed my mind set. Instead of trying to define my career path, my priority has shifted to first defining my passions and interest. I study accounting, but I also have a keen interest in business law, the oil and gas industry as well as the not-for-profit sector. I wish to follow my passions on a journey to finding a career that embodies what I love to do. I am eager to see where such a combination of interests will lead me in the future.”
